Background and training
Dr. Benaifer D. Preziosi, DMD, leads Coastal Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Linwood, New Jersey. A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, she treats patients across South Jersey, with a practice scope covering routine extractions through implant reconstruction to complex maxillofacial injuries and pathology.
Dr. Preziosi earned her DMD degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (currently Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) and completed her surgical residency at Columbia University’s St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center (now Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West) in New York City. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery — the highest credential in the specialty — and serves as the Department Chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and Shore Medical Center.
She maintains active memberships in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the New Jersey State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Her work in surgical anesthesia has been published in Hadzic’s Textbook of Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management.
Dr. Preziosi has been consistently named Top Doctor for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in South Jersey by her peers for the past decade and has been recognized by the Eastern Service Workers Association for her charitable contributions to the specialty.
Her clinical approach emphasizes thorough consultations, straightforward explanations of treatment options, and consistent follow-up. Patients can expect a clear understanding of their procedure, expected outcomes, and recovery process before treatment begins.
What to expect at a visit
At the first visit, the clinical team reviews your medical and dental history and takes any imaging needed — typically X-rays or a cone-beam CT scan. Dr. Preziosi then examines the area of concern, explains the findings, and walks through treatment options, expected outcomes, and recovery before any procedure is scheduled. A written cost estimate is provided before treatment begins.
